good things come in pairs

we discovered this cream colored vintage typewriter left in the trash bin yesterday.
it would be perfect for our house.

we also have this mustard colored typewriter. this cost us only S$4, but we had to lug it back all the way from bangkok.

the furniture project | part three

these are some furniture we painted today.
a dresser, a chair and a coat/clothes stand (you can hardly see it in this picture).

i took some pictures of my grandparents' house while waiting for the paint to dry.

the furniture project | part two

S and i didn't do much painting today.
we waited for the arrival of a wardrobe we bought last week.

it's pretty old. we were told the previous owner had this since the late 50s.

i really like the key.

we are going to repaint this wardrobe over the weekend. :)

the furniture project | part one

we bought some furniture from salvation army.
the old dresser was from S's auntie.

the process though tiring but it was fun.

some of the furniture we have painted.
the stool is from ikea.
we bought the coffee table for $24!

while waiting for the paint to dry, we baked organic muffins. not a single bit of butter used.

S didn't like it. he said the muffins were missing all the happy ingredients. haa..

more pictures of our project tomorrow!

monday no longer blue

how's your monday so far?
something nice came in the mail this morning. see, how cute is the bunny.
S and i are working on some furniture project together for the past week. i have pictures to share but maybe later tonight.

life in colors

i've been spending my morning using kuler to create a catalogue of color combinations of the moments in my life.

the colors of the books on my desk.

the colors of my clothes hanging dry.

the colors i see out of my windows.

it's really fun! try it.

i'm such a hoarder.

scrap that - i'm a lazy, sentimental and incorrigible hoarder in denial. being a right brainer doesn't help much.

i spent the whole of today clearing my wardrobe. i sort my clothes in "keep", "sell" and "donate/throw" boxes. it's really hard, but i tell myself i have to be a ruthless wardrobe culler.

what about you? what are your tried and tested rules for wardrobe culling?

le petit shoppe

S and i are setting up an online shop.
the things (mostly mine, ha!) we are selling are mainly preloved. as much as we love them, we feel they deserved better homes.

the shop will be opened on 20th june, saturday singapore time.

from an old shop

S and i were like kids in the candy store, when we saw these tiles.
it's not easy to find pastel colored tiles locally. so you can pretty much imagine our excitement.

they are nothing special really (read: old fashioned). we still like them very much. they bring back alot of good old memories.

metamorphosis

the new collection- metamorphosis by sister label sretsis, is the transformation into a new wonder. the only thing consistent is change; without change, according to the sretsis mantra, there will not be excitement and challenges and fun!

i just found a close-up picture of their signature print for the new season. i love how the diamonds morph into the girl’s silhouettes! this makes me really excited to see the garments in person.
